Chain + Conveyor bring out the big guns for RWM
11.09.2017Visit stand 5N50 at this year’s RWM and you may see more than you bargained for as amongst the wide range of conveyor chain and sprockets you’ll find a First World War Tank!
The tank, a 1/6th model of a MK4 First World War tank, was purchased by the industry leading conveyor chain specialists after receiving an order for a quantity of C 2050 K2-02 chain and sprockets from Armotec Ltd who produce limited editions of Military models.
Because of the significance of the Centenary of the First World War and the unusual application for a conveyor chain the company decided it was too good an opportunity to miss and decided to buy one, this being the 47th of 50. Today, with the help of an enthusiastic model builder and some 1000 rivets, you can view the tank for yourself sitting proudly aside a more regular feature, the Sprocket of Fortune.
The Sprocket of Fortune game regularly attracts its fair share of contestants, indeed 2016 saw demand exceed all previous years and so they’re expecting a busy few days as a daily prize of £100 gift vouchers is made available.
Talking of their longstanding showing at RWM, the UK’s premier event for resource efficiency and waste management solutions, Helen Stott, Director at Chain + Conveyor, said: ‘We are thrilled to return to RWM again this year. It’s always a great show for us and a fabulous chance to catch up with customers new & old.’
Talking further about the event Helen added, ‘During the show, our technical staff will be on hand to help all visitors with their questions and requirements. For well over 25 years we’ve remained the biggest service solution to the waste & recycling sector so we are well placed to help and we love every minute of it!’
As a leading supplier to the industry, Chain + Conveyor will be showcasing their range of Imperial & Metric conveyor chains, plus their ability to provide attachment manufacture and welding.
General Manager Damian Swindells also added, ‘We can produce replacement chains for any waste transfer systems whether it be in the field of paper, plastics, metals, WEEE or glass. Whilst visitors might not have been expecting to see a tank, it certainly goes some way to showing the breadth of ways our chain is used!‘
